This year Evan turned 1 year old January 4, Amy celebrated her 30th birthday in January, and Russell blew out 29 candles in September. In the last 12 months, we’ve celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary, Evan and Amy watched the fireworks in downtown Columbus on July 4th, we attended a sister’s wedding, we helped a brother move into a new house, Russell started another year in college, we enjoyed a visit from Russell’s parents, we explored the zoo lots of times, we bade farewell to the Volvo, Amy received a promotion at work, and Evan moved up to a new classroom at school. Evan has become quite the little boy. He has loved exploring the world around him as he’s perfected his walking and now running skills. He loves attending “school,” the OSU Child Care Program. He has three wonderful teachers whose names he loves to say. He also loves to say the names of all his family members—and remembers them in his evening prayers!
Throughout the year he has expressed interests in stacking and building, trains and buses, puzzles, coloring (he likes markers and paint!), water and sand play, dancing and listening to music, and of course reading books. His comprehension is incredible and he’s using more and more words daily. He wakes up ready to eat every morning so we know he is a growing boy! He’ll move to a bed within the month since he has learned how to climb out of both the crib and the pack ‘n’ play.
He is a little helper and enjoys cooking in the kitchen with Mommy and playing with “his” box of hardware with Daddy. He knows how to put on and take off his boots, zip up his coat (if we get it started), pick up toys, and help with dishes (he brings his plate to the dishwasher after dinner, puts the soap tablet in it, closes and starts it).
We are grateful for the many blessings we have received and for all our friends and family. Wishing you all a beautiful Christmas filled with the peace and joy the Christ brings. We are grateful for the babe born in Bethlehem and the hope that comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
Love,
Russell, Amy and Evan
